MaYomJukChad is an exotic Thai covered jar/ urn which looks attractive and lofty. The unique top cover is in the lotus bud shape which is placed on the tiered bases called “Chatra”. The covered body is the scalloped dome shape with a thick durable rim.
The shape of the jar is scalloped, round with a narrow mouth and flared base for stability. This strange-shaped jar has a unique style as the “gooseberry shape” from Thai fruit called "MaYom" which is a tiny soft green fruit with a sour taste and has medicinal properties. It is a petal-like pumpkin shape. The name MaYom (gooseberry tree) has a good meaning. It is believed that people who grow this tree in their garden will be appreciated and supported.
In the past, this jar was often used to contain liqueur and drinking water. After the late 19th century this jar/ urn began to decline. It has become more of a collector’s item and status symbol or but in saying that, it makes a beautiful urn for the loved ones.
The 8 inches or larger size can be used for adult urn but the smaller than 8 inches size can be used for keepsake or child & infant urn.
DokMaiKhod design consists of a contemporary pattern of twisted flowers that is a swirling vine of Thailand called “SroiFah” which is the Passifloraceae or Passionflower. This flower consists of pink and purple colors. It is also influenced by Indian art blended to build up colorful lines. The swirling vine flower pattern also incorporates the “KaNok” design (The basic Thai pattern from the flame shape) which consists of double corners and a famous Thai art to adapt to the colorful design of flowers to cause delicacy in accordance with various lines in Thai art. This DokMaiKhod design implies to the center of conciliation and peace.
Packing & Shipping
Our professional packing process is including three layers. Firstly, we will wrap each piece with soft paper to protect from any scratch, then the pieces will be wrapped with layer of air bubble regard to broken prevention. Last, we will put them in cardboard boxes and surround them with polystyrene foam sheets to protect them from moving inside the big box. Then our shipment is ready to deliver.
